One child, one adult dead in separate traffic accidents; Four others injured

Two separate traffic incidents in the Netherlands left a young child and another person dead, while four others were hospitalized.

In Zevenhuizen, Groningen, a person was killed in a car accident on the Oudestreek (N979) early on New Year’s Eve, the police reported. Two vehicles were involved in the collision.

The victim died at the scene. Four additional people were taken to the hospital for observation. Local media reported that one of the cars crashed into a tree and caught fire.

Bergen op Zoom police said a young child was struck and killed by a car on Noordsingel around 12:15 a.m. Thursday.
