69-year-old man dies in head-on collision in Best

A 69-year-old man from Eindhoven was killed in a head-on collision between two cars in Best, according to police. Another person sustained injuries in the crash.

The collision occurred on the Ringweg. Police suspect that the 69-year-old driver may have suffered a medical emergency, causing him to veer into the opposite lane and collide with an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the second car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Traffic specialists are investigating the accident.

A witness reported that emergency responders attempted to resuscitate the victim for approximately 45 minutes. A police spokesperson told RTL Nieuws that family members of the deceased were nearby and rushed to the crash site upon hearing sirens. They were informed of the man’s death at the scene.

Emergency services responded with three ambulances, firefighters, and police. A trauma helicopter was also deployed to the scene.
