Woman discovered dead in pool; 21-year-old man arrested over 'suspicious circumstances'
A 21-year-old man was arrested Saturday in Kaatsheuvel after police discovered the body of a woman in a small swimming pool behind her home on Langemeer, De Telegraaf reports.
The deceased woman was the resident of the house in the Noord-Brabant town, authorities said. Police stated that the man was taken into custody because there were “some suspicious circumstances” surrounding the discovery.
According to neighbors who spoke with Omroep Brabant, the woman was last heard between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., singing loudly in her garden.
Police confirmed that the arrested man did not live at the address where the body was found. Investigators have not released further details about the relationship between the woman and the suspect or the cause of death.
The area around the home was cordoned off for forensic investigation. Police said additional information will follow as the inquiry continues.
