64-year-old motorcyclist dies in Rilland track accident
A 64-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon following a crash at a motocross track in Rilland, police confirmed. The incident occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. on the track located on Bathseweg. According to police, he fell during the ride, resulting in fatal injuries.
The accident occurred near a jump ramp on the Bathseweg motocross circuit, but the victim was not attempting a jump when the incident happened, said the spokesperson for the Royal Dutch Motorcycle Federation (KNMV). “He had been riding on the track for years, often at a leisurely pace, purely for fun,” the representative added. However, the exact circumstances remain unclear.
Emergency responders, including two ambulance teams and a trauma helicopter from Rotterdam, arrived on the scene. The man was dead when they arrived, police confirm.
