Curacao elections to continue despite incoming tropical storm

So far Curacao will hold parliamentary elections on Friday, despite the fact that tropical storm Matthew is set to pass by the north of the island on Thursday night, Prime Minister Ben Whiteman said on Wednesday, the Gelderlander reports. The weather predictions for Curacao on Thursday night involves a lot of wind and rain. According to the island's prime minister, a final evaluation will be done early on Friday morning. If the rain and wind cause too much damage, the election will be postponed. "But that really is the last options, the elections are too important", Whitemen said. A total of 13 parties are competing for 21 seats in this election.
