Police remove twelve migrants from truck in Steenbergen

The police discovered 12 undocumented migrants hiding in the cargo area of a truck in Steenbergen on Wednesday, the Roosendaal police said on Twitter. The truck driver was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking. Various Dutch news agencies are reporting that there were 11 migrants - nine men and two women - instead of twelve. According to ANP, the truck was pulled over on the A4 near Steenbergen, Noord-Brabant because it is registered as "suspicious" with the police. The Koninklijke Marechaussee - a policing force that works as part of the military - was called in to investigate. The truck driver, a 45-year-old man from Bulgaria, is in custody.
