Passing car runs over man pushed onto highway during road rage incident

A motorist was injured on the A29 highway at the Dinteloord exit on Monday morning. The man argued and scuffled with another motorist on the hard shoulder and was pushed onto the highway. A passing car then drove over his hand, the police said.

The incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. on the A29 toward Rotterdam. According to the police, the two men became frustrated with each other because one reportedly did not maintain a safe following distance from the other.

The two men stopped on the hard shoulder and got out of their cars. An altercation ensued. After some pushing and pulling, one motorist pushed the other onto the highway, and a passing car drove over his hand. The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The motorist who pushed the man fled the scene, as did the motorist who drove over his hand. The police are looking for both of them.
