Arrest made in decade-old Breda drug deal gone wrong

A suspect has been arrested in relation to a fatal shooting that took place in Breda, Noord-Brabant in 2006, the police released. A 34-year-old Frenchman has been apprehended in the drug-related offense. He was transferred to the Netherlands from Spain on a European arrest warrant. On March 13, 2006, a 31-year-old Breda resident died from a gunshot wound when four French people arrived in town looking to buy 40 kilos of cannabis for 100,000 euros, the Telegraaf reported. Shots were fired following an argument about the quality of the product. A friend of the deceased was also seriously injured after leaping from the window of a third-floor flat on Oranjeboomstraat. An arrest was made the day after the attack; a suspect was extradited to the Netherlands from France before being tried and convicted for partial involvement in the crime. A second arrest was made in October 2013, with that suspect then transferred by the Spanish authorities to the Netherlands before being tried and convicted.
