No cash in ATMs this weekend after labour strike

According to CNV Vakmensen, money transport company Brinks has not responded on an ultimatum from the unions. Actions will start on Saturday and ATM's will not be refilled by Brinks employees, says CNV director Peter de Ridder. Brinks announced a major reorganization in October. About 600 of the more than 1 thousand employees will lose their jobs due to this reorganization. The layoffs are necessary because Brinks will no longer be transporting money for Rabobank from July 2015. Rabobank is Brinks Netherlands' largest customer. From late next summer Rabobank's money transporting will be performed by Geld Service Nederland (GSN). This is a joint transport company founded by the banks Rabobank, ABN Amro and ING. After the announcement of the reorganization, the unions set an ultimatum. FNV and CNV require that a large part of the staff transfer to GSN. They also want a good social plan for the employees that are made redundant. According to CNV, Brinks has not responded. It was announced yesterday that Brinks will continue independently. The American parent company does not want to put any more money in the Dutch branch.
