Second explosion strikes Barendrecht home in less than a week

A home on Ruiterwei in Barendrecht was struck by a second explosion in a short period early Sunday morning, police said. The blast damaged the front of the house but caused no injuries.

Authorities received the report shortly after 5:30 a.m. Rijnmond reported that multiple people were inside the residence at the time, but no one was hurt.

The house had previously been targeted in the night from Monday to Tuesday, when an earlier explosion shattered a window.

Police confirmed that both incidents are under investigation. “We are looking into both explosions,” a spokesperson said, urging anyone with information to come forward.
