Ninth blast this year tears through Baarn home, shattering windows
A powerful explosion rocked a home on J.F. Kennedylaan in Baarn early Thursday, marking the ninth blast in the town this year, RTV Utrecht reports.
Around 2:15 a.m., residents were jolted awake by a loud detonation that severely damaged the house’s front door. The blast blew out multiple windows and scattered glass fragments across the entry hall and front garden. No one was injured in the incident.
Police arrived quickly to secure the scene and launched a forensic investigation. Officers examined debris and collected evidence to determine the cause of the explosion.
A police spokesperson said investigators have not yet established whether this blast is connected to any of the previous eight explosions reported in Baarn since January. “We are looking into whether there is a link to other incidents in Baarn,” the spokesperson stated.Authorities are appealing to witnesses and neighbors with security camera footage to contact police to assist in the investigation.
