Three injured in explosion near car in Zoetermeer; One arrested

Three people were injured in an explosion involving a car on Van Leeuwenhoeklaan in Zoetermeer Saturday evening, police said. One of the victims was taken to the hospital for further treatment, NOS reports.

The blast occurred around 6 p.m. and caused damage to multiple objects in the immediate area. The car involved was visibly damaged, along with the entrance area of a nearby apartment building. A scooter near the scene was also damaged.

Police said they suspect that heavy fireworks were used to cause the explosion. "Traces of fireworks were found at the scene," authorities confirmed.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. Police have not released any details about the identity of the individual.
