Teen dies after hit-and-run in Maassluis, four arrested

An 18-year-old man from De Lier died early Sunday morning after being struck by a car in Maassluis. The driver fled the scene, but police later found the vehicle and arrested four suspects in De Lier.

The collision occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Prins Mauritsstraat in the Zuid-Holland city, police said. Bystanders attempted to assist the victim, who was severely injured. Emergency responders transported him to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Shortly after the crash, police located the car in De Lier with four men inside. The suspects, aged 23, 20, 19, and 18, are all from The Hague and were taken into custody.

Authorities continue the investigation. Police have called on witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the incident.
