Police: woman found dead in Amsterdam was 30, identity unknown

Police disclosed that the person found dead early Saturday morning in a residence on Gerard Callenburgstraat in the Bos en Lommer neighborhood is a 30-year-old woman but have not yet determined her identity. Authorities suspect foul play and arrested a 32-year-old man from Amsterdam shortly after the discovery. Police said that the man lived on the Gerard Callenburgstraatt; where the woman resided is not known.

The woman was found around 5:00 a.m., but the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear. Investigators are still working to establish the nature of any connection between the victim and the man in custody.

The Forensic Investigation team and detectives continue their work at the scene. A mobile crisis command center has been placed outside the residence as part of the investigation.

Police have asked anyone with information or potential witnesses to come forward.
