One Injured in shooting Incident in Sittard; suspect arrested

A shooting on Saturday afternoon in Sittard left one person injured, prompting a swift response from local police who arrested a suspect shortly after the incident.

The shooting occurred around 3:15 p.m. in a home on Catullusstraat. Emergency services arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to local police, the suspect fled the scene after the shooting but later turned himself in at a police station. He was arrested without further incident.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting and the motive behind the violence. It remains unclear what led to the altercation at the home.
