Tajikistan crash was terrorist attack

The Tajik authorities confirmed to the Netherlands that a crash that cost the lives of four cycling tourists in Tajikistan on Sunday, was a terrorist attack, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Twitter. "My thoughts go out to all the victims and relatives of this horrible attack", the Dutch Prime Minister wrote.

A car crashed into seven cycling tourists in the Danghara region on Sunday. Four were killed, a 56-year-old Dutch man, two Americans and a Swiss. A 58-year-old Dutch woman was one of the three injured.

According to the Tajkistan government, the forbidden Islamic Resistance Party is behind the attack, RTL Nieuws reports. That party was designated as a terrorist organization in 2015.

Terrorist organization ISIS claimed the attack on Monday, but did not give any details about the attack or evidence of its involvement.
