Cop run over by stolen car
A police officer was injured in Rotterdam on Saturday night when the driver of a stolen car ran him over, NOS reports.
Patrolling police officers noticed a car signalled as stolen standing at a traffic light and pulled their car in front of it. One of the officers got out of the car and ordered the driver to get out.
The driver reversed the car for several meters. The officer put his arm through the window to unlock to door from the inside. The man reversed again, dragging to police officer along and driving over his feet.
The man then sped off past the police car, still dragging the officer a long. He was able to pull free dozens of meters later. He sustained abrasions, bruises and possibly torn biceps.
The car stopped a few hundred meters away and the driver fled on foot. A passerby grabbed him and handed him over to the officers.
The man was arrested and charged with attempted manslaughter.
