Video: Rotterdam man accused of attempted manslaughter for stabbing cops during search

Two police officers were stabbed in their legs early on Monday morning while searching a suspect in Rotterdam city center. The suspect, a 24-year-old man from Rotterdam, was arrested for attempted manslaughter.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. According to Rijnmond, the two cops stopped the man for a check on Rochussenstraat because he was behaving suspiciously.

While the officers were searching him, the man suddenly pulled a knife from his waistband and started stabbing the cops. He hit both officers in the leg.

Both cops required hospital treatment after the stabbing.

Colleagues of the two injured officers arrested the 24-year-old man for attempted manslaughter. He is in custody for questioning and further investigation.
