Two hurt in separate stabbing and shooting incidents on Rotterdam square

Two people were injured in two violent incidents on Schouwburgplein in Rotterdam city center on Wednesday evening. One person got stabbed, another got shot. The police believe the incidents are unrelated.

The stabbing happened at around 6:00 p.m. A 19-year-old man sustained minor injuries. No arrests have been made, and the police are looking for the perpetrator.

About two hours later, at around 8:00 p.m., two men got into an argument that escalated into one of them pulling a firearm and shooting the other.

The victim, a 34-year-old man from Rotterdam, sustained serious injuries. Emergency services rushed him to the hospital.

The police arrested another 34-year-old man from Rotterdam at Rotterdam Central Station, near Schouwburgplein, for the shooting. The police are investigating.

A police spokesperson told RTL Niuews that the two incidents are unrelated to each other and also not linked to the Feyenoord-Fenebahçe match that took place last night.
