More storms heading to Eastern Netheralands

The eastern parts of the Netherlands can expect more storms on Monday afternoon. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow warning for Overijssel, Gelderland, Noord Brabant and Limburg, effective between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. According to the meteorological institute, the storms may be accompanied by heavy rains, lightning strikes, hail and strong winds. There is a real chance of flooding. "Avoid open water and open areas, do not take shelter under trees. Follow weather reports and warnings.", KNMI warns. Storms last week led to widespread flooding, especially in Limburg and Noord-Brabant. On Friday there were concerns that a dike in the German city of Hamminkeln, just across the border from Zevenaar, would break due to the heavy rainfalls, flooding the A3 highway.
