A suspect was hit by a police bullet after he and two others broke into a car in Amsterdam on Wednesday night. All three suspects were arrested. According the police, the three suspects fled in a getaway car after the auto theft. They crashed the car on Amstelveenseweg and fled further on foot. The police caught up to them on Cornelis Krusemanstraat. The suspects fired shots at the officers, according to broadcaster NOS. The officers fired back, hitting one of them. The suspect was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown. The Rijksrecherche, the police department that handles internal investigations, is looking into the shooting, as is standard procedure whenever a police officer fires shots.
