Several hundred people gathered on Dam Square in Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon for a peace event in commemoration of the victims of attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand on Friday. The event was organized by 13 organizations who want to "send a powerful signal for peace and against terror", reports.

On Friday a right-wing extremist man opened fire on two mosques in the New Zealand city. 50 people were killed and dozens were injured.

Family members and friends of Hennie de Laat, a 58-year-old woman found murdered on Hoogvensestraat in Tilburg on Saturday, are arranging a vigil for her on Wednesday, Brabants Dagblad reports.

The vigil will start at 7:00 p.m. Participants are asked to gather on Veestraat, from where they will silently march through the city. Those who want to join the march, are asked to bring a red ribbon along.

The family of 18-year-old Niels Wienberg is arranging a torchlight procession through his home city of Culemborg on Thursday night. The autistic teen will be buried on Friday. The procession will start at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the town hall on Markt in Culemborg, AD reports 

Niels' family set up a memorial page for him on So far over 1,200 people lit a virtual candle for the deceased teenager and over 130 left a message of condolence for his family.
