Activists blocked access to NAM's Tankenpark in Farmsum, Groningen on Tuesday morning in a protest against gas extraction in the province. According to action group Code Rood, more than 700 people gathered at the gates. The group wants to block the entrance for several days, ANP reports.

Hundreds of people participated in a silent march through Rotterdam on Tuesday. The march was a protest against sexual harassment and violence, and to show support for a young woman who was brutally raped in the city. They carried signs with texts like "No means no", "We are not objects", "Our rights are not up for grabs, neither are we", and "Private property, consent mandatory".

The police broke up a student protest at the University of Amsterdam on Friday night. According to the students, the police used batons, pepper spray and police dogs on them and several students sustained injuries. GroenLinks parliamentarian Zihni Ozdil wants an explanation from Education Minister Ingrid van Engelshoven, Het Parool reports.

The police arrested three seasick Greenpeace activists on Friday. The activists formed part of a group that climbed onto the drilling platform near Schiermonnikoog to protest against gas drilling. They returned to shore because they felt seasick, and was arrested at Lauwersoog in Groningen.

A protest against police brutality is being planned Den Haag on February 19th, following the death of 39-year-old Paul Selier after being arrested in Waddinxveen on Friday morning. Singer John Medley submitted a request to protest to the municipality of Den Haag, Omroep West reports. The municipality still has to approve it.

Mayor Marga Waanders of Dongeradeel, the police and Public Prosecutor decided to put a stop to a call on Facebook for Friesland residents to try and stop anti-Zwarte Piet activists reaching Dokkum, where Sinterklaas will make his national arrival on Saturday. In an open letter, the Mayor called on everyone coming to see Sinterklaas' arrival to respect each other's opinions.

Dokkum is getting ready for Sinterklaas' national arrival on Saturday, including putting up decorations and preparing for an anti-Zwarte Piet protest. The municipality of Dongeradeel, which includes Dokkum, gave Kick Out Zwarte Piet permission to protest, but is still working out the exact conditions and arrangements, a spokesperson said to Het Parool.

Kick Out Zwarte Piet announced their protest on Facebook. The protest will be preceded by a "March for Civilization", according to the group.

Groningen residents and environmental group Milieudefensie dumped a pile of rubble in front of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in The Hague on Thursday morning. The rubble comes from monumental farms that were damaged by earthquakes caused by gas extraction in the province. The protesters wants newly sworn in Minister Eric Wiebes of Economic Affairs and Climate to be faced with the consequences of his predecessors' decisions on his first day at the office, NOS reports.

Activist group Fossil Free Culture protested in front of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam on Sunday. The group believes that the museum should not be sponsored by Shell, NU.nl reports. 

The black clad protestors used torn and broken umbrellas to represent landscapes spoiled by Shell's fossil fuel mining, oil spills and carbon emissions, the group said on Twitter. 

The Van Gogh museum will not press charges against the protesters, a spokesperson said to NU.nl, calling their demonstration a "peaceful action" that the museum regards as "freedom of expression".

The police removed two balaclava-wearing men from the roof of the new Islamic high school in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The two men were protesting against the school by hanging banners from its facade and shouting anti-Islam slogans like "salafism, terrorism". Boh were arrested, NOS reports.

Protesters chained and locked the front- and back doors of Islamic primary school Er Risèlèh on Stadhouderslaan in Leiden during Sunday night. A number of news sources attributed the action to anti-Islam movement Pegida. Pegida Nederland expressed support for the action on Twitter, but said that it was organized by Leiden residents, NU.nl reports

Dutch food and consumer product safety authority NVWA added codes of another 14 poultry companies to its list of eggs contaminated with toxic insecticide fipronil. About 25 people from environmental group Greenpeace are protesting in front of the Nuon headquarters in Amsterdam on Thursday, calling on the power company to close its coal power plant on Hemweg. Five of the protesters are locked in a glass meeting room and they hung a big banner on the Nuon building's facade calling for the coal plant to be closed, NU.nl reports.

The Greenpeace activists plan to stay in front of the building until the energy company agrees to talk to them about closing the Hemweg power plant.
