On Sunday night the police were forced to intervene in a demonstration by about 250 Turkish-Dutch in Amsterdam. Mayor Eberhard van der Laan put the demonstration to an early end around 10:45 p.m. due to disruptions of public order and traffic, the municipality announced. Riot police units were deployed and eventually chased the demonstrators home using water cannons, AD reports.

PVV leader Geert Wilders and a number of candidate PVV parliamentarians are demonstrating in front of the Turkish Embassy in The Hague on Wednesday. Wilders is carrying a banner reading "Stay away! This is our country", ANP reports.

A number of anti-Islam group Pegida supporters are also in front of the embassy.The police closed down the street and many officers are present.

An animal shelter in Zaandam canceled a work visit from PVV leader Geert Wilders on Thursday out of fear for the safety of their employees, a spokesperson for the PVV said. According to him, it has to do with an announced demonstration by anti-fascists, NOS reports.

Thousands of people participated in a torchlight march through the city of Groningen on Tuesday as a protest against the Dutch government's policy on gas extraction in the northern province. Organizers estimate that about 4,500 people joined the march. The protesters want gas extraction to be further reduced, preferably to zero, and earthquake damage to be compensated, NU.nl reports.

Thousands of people gathered on the Malieveld in The Hague on Wednesday afternoon for a Holland against Hate demonstration against American president Donald Trump. The initiators want the protest to show that the Netherlands is against Trump's "xenophobic policy" of closing the United States borders to people from seven Muslim countries. They also hope to convince the Dutch government to send the same signal. Many politicians were also part of the demonstration, NOS reports.

Some 100 people gathered on the Bijlmerplein in Amsterdam Zuidoost on Thursday night to protest against the arrest of a 12-year-old boy on the square earlier this week. Activist Jeffrey Afriyie and politician Sylvana Simons were among the protesters. "Let this be the last tie we deliver our children to people that would rather lock them up than bring them up." Afriyie said speaking at the protest, AD reports.

Anti-blackface group Kick Out Zwarte Piet (KOZP) plans to protest in Maassluis during Sinterklaas' national arrival on November 12th. "For us 2016 will be the last year that December has an aftertaste of colonialism, slavery and opression", the group said according to RTL Nieuws.

According to the KOZP, Zwarte Piet in his current form is a racist figure.

The Hague mayor Jozias van Aartsen decided not to allow a protest march against police brutality to go through the Schilderswijk neighborhood on Monday. Protesters will have to go another route. Protest organizers are furious. "We now have to demonstrate along a route that is invisible. Train passengers can expect overflowing trains during rush hour this morning. Thousands of students will be using the rail transport in protest against NS' plan to ask universities and colleges to change their lesson schedules so students can travel outside rush hour.
