An autumn storm that hit the Netherlands on Thursday mostly caused damage in the east and north of the country. The biggest disruption caused by the storm, was when tents set up for horse event CSI Salland were blown down in Mariënheem, sending a number of expensive horses running, RTL Nieuws reports.
Two bodies found in the water of the Thijssengracht in Giethoorn on Monday, were identified as two Polish seasonal workers. Their car crashed into the canal last week, and they had been missing since, AD reports.
The victims are two men, aged 24 and 44 years. After the accident, divers searched the car and canal, but could not find the victims. Investigation confirmed that the two Polish men were the occupants of the car.
