A 74-year-old man has died from injuries sustained at a mass shooting in Utrecht earlier this month. The unnamed victim, from De Meern in Utrecht province, died on Thursday, according to the Public Prosecutor's office (OM).
Two men were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the assassination of 37-year-old Aziz Anzi. He was gunned down while sitting in his car in a parking lot next to the A12 highway on September 19th last year
The Dutch authorities issued an NL-Alert warning of toxic smoke released in a large fire at a transport company in De Meern. Smoke is blowing over several Utrecht neighborhoods.

Numerous burglars were arrested across the Netherlands between December 24th and December 26th and many more burglaries were reported, though there was not a remarkable increase in the number of burglaries compared to the same period in previous years.
Public Prosecutor has demanded that two suspects who have been arrested in connection with a drive-by attempted assassination be sentenced for an unconditional 14 year prison sentence. The public prosecutor has called for this in light of the incident taking place in a residential area in broad daylight, with a semi-automatic firearm.
Police investigating the shooting death of an unidentified man in De Meern, Utrecht say they hope to determine what led to the violent murder by speaking with witnesses who were in the parking lot at the time. Photos and video from the scene off Meerndijk show a light colored modern Fiat 500 with five bullet holes in the passenger door panel, and the passenger door window completely shattered.
