Teen girls, 17 & 18, killed in traffic accident in Maarssen

Two teenage girls from Maarssen died in a traffic accident in their hometown on Sunday evening. The 17-year-old and 18-year-old women were in a car that crashed into a tree, Hart van Nederland reported.

The accident happened on Westkanaaldijk late in the evening. First responders could do nothing for the victims.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Investigators asked witnesses or anyone with relevant camera footage to come forward.
