PSV sells Ismael Saibari to Bayern Munich for record €55 million

Ismael Saibari is permanently moving from PSV to Bayern Munich, sources told NOS. The German club paid €55 million for the Moroccan midfielder, a record for PSV. Saibari, currently playing for Morocco in the World Cup, is signing with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2031, according to the broadcaster’s sources.

Saibari has been an important force in PSV since his debut for the first team in 2020. During his time in Eindhoven, the club won three national titles. Last season, Saibari played 37 matches for PSV, scoring 19 times and providing nine assists, winning him the title of Eredivisie Player of the Year.

PSV bought Saibari’s contract from the Belgian club KRC Genk’s youth academy for €200,000. At €55 million, Saibari is the largest outgoing transfer in PSV’s history, followed by Hirving Lozano, who transferred to Napoli for €50 million in the summer of 2019, and Cody Gakpo, who transferred to Liverpool for €42 million in the winter of 2023.

In the Eredivisie as a whole, only four Ajax players have transferred for higher amounts: Antony to Manchester United for €95 million, Frenkie de Jong to FC Barcelona for €86 million, Mattijs de Ligt to Juventus for €85 million, and Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United for €57 million.
