Man found critically wounded in car near Rotterdam police station after stabbing
A man was found critically wounded with multiple stab wounds inside a car near a police station in Rotterdam-Charlois late Sunday, Rijnmond reports. Police said they are investigating where the stabbing took place and searching for witnesses.
Emergency services responded around 11:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a severely injured man on Pleinweg, near the Zuidplein police station. Officers found the victim sitting inside a car that had stopped on a median strip.
Police said the man was likely stabbed in the Tarwewijk area, though the exact location of the attack remains unclear. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds, was briefly resuscitated at the scene and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made.
Police said in a social media statement: “We received a report of a stabbing. As we ran toward our van, we were signaled by a group near a vehicle at Zuidplein. We found the victim inside the vehicle with multiple stab wounds.”
“We performed life-saving police medical assistance and briefly resuscitated the victim, after which he was urgently transported to the hospital.”
Authorities said they are continuing to investigate where the incident occurred and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. “Did you see or hear anything, or do you have other information?” police said.
