Fatal shooting in Zuid-Holland town Den Hoorn; One killed near sports park

One person was shot dead near a sports park in the Zuid-Holland town of Den Hoorn on Thursday, the Den Haag police reported on X. The police reported no arrests and said nothing about the victim’s identity.

The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. at Spoorplaats, a park near Tramkade and Zuidhoornseweg. First responders found the critically injured victim at the scene and tried to resuscitate them, but it was to no avail. The victim died at the scene.

Spoorplaats is located very near the Den Hoorn sports park, where many people were playing sports at the time of the shooting, NOS reported. The police asked witnesses to come forward.

The police cordoned off the street for investigation.
