Groningen man, 25, dies after fireworks incident in Stadspark

A 25-year-old man from Groningen died from injuries sustained in a fireworks accident in the early hours of Sunday, November 9, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. near the entrance of Stadspark, along Concourslaan, RTV Noord reported.

Bystanders reported hearing a loud explosion and discovered the man on the ground. Emergency responders provided immediate medical attention before rushing him to a hospital, where he later died.

Police stated earlier this week that no criminal investigation will be opened in connection with the incident. However, authorities are investigating the origin of the fireworks.
