Body found in Wassenaar ditch, police investigating

A body was found Saturday afternoon in a ditch along Papeweg in Wassenaar, police said.

According to Omroep West, the ditch lies beside a meadow and a main road. Emergency services, including divers, were called to the scene after the discovery.

Divers recovered the deceased from the water a short time later. Police said they are still investigating how the person ended up in the ditch.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, and authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the death.
