Frontal collision in Lierop: car driver tests positive for drugs
A frontal collision between a van and two cars on Somerenseweg in Lierop left vehicles damaged but no serious injuries, police reported Saturday.
According to Eindhovens Dagblad, police took the driver of the car that collided head-on with the van to the station for further investigation. “The driver tested positive for drug use,” authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. when the van struck an oncoming car, causing a second vehicle to be unable to avoid the collision. The van’s rear hit a tree, breaking its rear axle and denting its side. Debris, including tools from the van, scattered across the road.
Emergency responders examined all involved parties on-site, and none required hospital transport. The Somerenseweg remained closed during the accident investigation and vehicle removal.
