Police hunt driver after fatal A2 crash that killed reality star
Police are searching for a driver who fled on foot after a fatal crash on the A2 near Rosmalen that killed 30-year-old reality television personality Jordi Schuurmans, according to Omroep Brabant.
The collision happened Saturday evening when a motorcycle ridden by Schuurmans struck a car on the highway. Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, rushed to the scene, but attempts to save him failed.
Schuurmans, who appeared in 2017 on MTV’s Ex on the Beach: Double Dutch, was registered in Oss but wrote on Facebook that he was from Uden.
Debris from the crash was scattered across 100 meters of roadway. Part of the A2 was closed for investigation, but police said drivers ignored overhead red X signs and continued past the scene, even as resuscitation efforts were underway.
A damaged car was found at the site, and police determined by Sunday who the driver was. Officers went to his home in Den Bosch that evening, but he was not there.
His identity has not been released, and police confirmed Monday they are still searching for him, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
