Temps up to 29°C today; Cooler, wetter weather from Thursday
The Netherlands has a summery day to look forward to, with maximums climbing to between 25 and 28 degrees and room for sunshine. Limburg might even hit 29. Wednesday will still be summery in some areas, but cooler weather with much more rain is expected to hit on Thursday, according to Weeronline.
Today, a moderate southerly wind brings warm air into the Netherlands. There will be a mix of clouds and sunshine, with a few local showers at the end of the day. Maximums will be between 25 and 28 degrees, with Limburg being slightly warmer, and the northwest being slightly cooler at around 24 degrees Celsius.
On Wednesday, the wind will shift to the southwest, tempering the heat somewhat. The central and eastern parts of the country will still be warm, with highs of 25 to 27, but the west will be cooler with maximums of 22 to 24 degrees. The forecast is a mix of sunny spells and cloudy skies, with showers in the evening and a moderate southwesterly wind.
On Thursday, only the east will still hit summer values at 25 or 26 degrees. The west and central parts of the country will see thermometers climb to between 21 and 23 degrees. “Showers will regularly pass through, and further inland, these could become heavy with a chance of local thunderstorms.” The sun may briefly show its face, but clouds will predominate.
The last days of August will be cool with changeable weather. “Showers or rain zones will regularly pass through, and highs will range between 20 and 22 degrees,” Weeronline said. “Although there will still be sunny spells, the weather will be unsettled.”
