Some rain ahead of dry, summery weekend; 30 degrees expected on Monday

Showers are moving across the Netherlands on Wednesday morning, but the day will be sunny by afternoon. More rain is expected on Friday before a dry and summery weekend. On Monday, thermometers could top 30 degrees, Weeronline reported.

Wednesday’s showers will move away to Germany in the morning, and skies will clear from the west. “These clearings will gradually spread further across the country.” The eastern parts of the country may still have some cloud cover in the early afternoon. “In the rest of the country, there will be long sunny spells, and in the coastal areas, it will be downright sunny,” the weather service said.

Temperatures will rise to 22 degrees in the west and 24 degrees in the east. Some parts of Noord-Brabant, Limburg, and the Achterhoek may see thermometers hit 25 degrees. “The temperature is very normal for this time of year.”

Overnight, cloud fields and a few drops of rain will occur, but it should remain dry in most places. Minimums will drop to between 14 and 17 degrees.

Thursday will start out cloudy with some occasional rainfall. The cloud cover will break open from the west, and then there will be periods of sun. The afternoon will be a mix of clouds and sunshine, with maximums climbing to between 22 and 24 degrees.

Friday will be cloudy with showers. The most rain will fall in the north and the center of the country. The southern half should dry up during the course of the day, but the north will see showers until evening. The west-to-southwest wind will be moderate to fairly strong. “Despite the wind and rain, it won’t be cold at 22 degrees in the northwest and 25 degrees in the southeast.”

The weekend will be dry and summery, with plenty of room for sunshine. Saturday’s maximums will range between 23 and 26 degrees, and Sunday will be even warmer with highs of 26 to 29 degrees.

On Monday, even warmer air will enter the country and push temperatures above 30 degrees in most places. “The sun will shine a lot, but later in the day, the chance of rain and thunderstorms will increase,” Weeronline said.

“The days after that will be slightly changeable with regular showers, but also enough moments with sunshine. The temperatures will slowly drop a few degrees again.”
