Showers expected during Canal Pride in Amsterdam; Great festival weather otherwise

The Netherlands has several festivals on the calendar this week and weekend, including Queer & Pride in Amsterdam, the Solar Festival in Roermond, and Sneekweek. Attendees can expect mostly good festival weather, with some showers scattered through, including during the Canal Parade in Amsterdam on Saturday, according to Weeronline.

Queer & Pride Amsterdam has outdoor events on the agenda all week, including various parties on the streets and squares of the Dutch capital. Thursday will have great weather for outdoor parties. There is a chance of some showers in the morning, but the rest of the day will be dry with sunny periods and temperatures around 24 degrees. Friday will be a bit warmer at around 25 degrees, with plenty of room for the sun. Nighttime temps will drop to a chilly 14 degrees.

Those planning to attend the Canal Parade on Saturday, one of the highlights of the Queer & Pride event, would be wise to pack a poncho. Some showers are expected in the capital on Saturday afternoon. During the dry periods, there will be room for sunshine, and temperatures will be around 22 degrees. The closing party on Sunday may also see some showers, a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures around 22 degrees.

The Solar Festival in Roermond may start with heavy showers and a thunderstorm on Thursday. The chance of showers will decrease slightly overnight. Friday may still see some rain, but it should be mostly dry with room for the sun. Temperatures will climb to around 26 degrees, making for wonderful festival weather. Saturday and Sunday will see a mix of clouds and sun, with occasional showers. Saturday will be 25 degrees, and Sunday 23 degrees. “Make sure you apply plenty of sunscreen,” Weeronline advised. “Your sun can burn within 15 minutes in the full sun.”

Sneekweek in Sneek, Friesland, will have a mix of coulds and sun. The weather will be great on Friday for the Vlootschouw at the traditional opening. No rain is expected, and evening temperatures will be around 19 degrees, dropping to 14 as the night continues.

The sailing competitions on Saturday will face a moderate southwesterly wind, with a few possible showers during the day. When it's not raining, the sun will break through regularly, and maximums will climb to around 22 degrees. Sunday will look much the same.
