Suspect in death of singer S10’s twin brother to remain in custody for 16 more days
The suspect in the case of the death of singer S10’s twin brother will remain in custody for another 16 days, the Noord-Holland District Court announced Thursday.
At the end of July, it was announced that a 23-year-old man from Hoorn, suspected of involvement in the death of his twin brother, would remain in custody for another two weeks. At that point, the suspect had already been held in pre-trial detention for 60 days. He was arrested in May.
Initially, the Public Prosecution Service wanted to extend the man’s pre-trial detention by 30 days at the end of July. It was not known at the time why the court deviated from that request. With the additional 16 days now granted, the total still comes to 30 days.
On April 16, the twin brother of Stien den Hollander, as the singer who represented the Netherlands at Eurovision in 2022 is actually named, was found seriously injured on the roof of a garage at the base of an apartment building on Osdorper Ban in Amsterdam. Before that, the victim had spent several hours in an apartment in the building, where he may have been held against his will.
He died of his injuries on June 19. In addition to the 23-year-old suspect, a 30-year-old man from Hoorn has also been in pre-trial detention since late June. He is scheduled to appear in court in October for a preliminary hearing.
