Three hurt, two arrested in Groningen stabbing incident
Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning in Groningen. Police responded to a report of a fight involving multiple individuals on Oude Ebbingestraat around 2:20 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found two men with injuries from a stabbing and quickly apprehended the suspects nearby.
The arrested individuals are a 19-year-old man from Groningen and an 18-year-old man from Lelystad. Both were taken into custody at the scene shortly after the incident. Authorities are investigating their possible involvement in the attack, which left three people injured.
Two of the victims, a 23-year-old man from Groningen and a 42-year-old man without a fixed address, were transported to a hospital for treatment. A third victim, a 24-year-old man from Groningen, did not require medical attention.
Following the arrests, forensic investigators were dispatched to the scene, where they conducted an extensive search for evidence. The police are also reviewing security camera footage from the area and speaking with witnesses to better understand the motive behind the attack.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to the stabbing to come forward. They are especially interested in any video recordings from the time of the incident, such as footage from surveillance cameras or dash cams.
