Explosive detonates in Eindhoven home; 3 hurt, 2 arrested
Three people got hurt in an enormous explosion in a home on Hefveld in Eindhoven on Thursday evening. The police arrested two people, including one of the injured. Initial investigation shows that the explosives that detonated were already in the home and this was not an attack, a police spokesperson told Omroep Brabant.
The explosion happened around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday. Three ambulances responded to the scene and found three injured people, covered in blood. Paramedics took one to the hospital.
The explosion left the house in ruins. The rear facade is in the backyard, there is a hole in a side wall, and the front facade is also damaged.
The police worried that there were still undetonated explosives in the home and cordoned off the streets in front of and behind the home. The neighbors also had to leave their homes, according to NOS.
The police are investigating.
