Man shot dead on Eindhoven street; Stabbing, fire bombing elsewhere in country

A man died in the hospital after being gunned down in the middle of the street in Eindhoven on Sunday evening. The police arrested two suspects and are looking for more perpetrators. There was also a stabbing in Loosbroek that left one person hurt and a firebombing in Rotterdam that caused damage.

The Eindhoven shooting happened on Rode Kruislaan at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. The victim was left critically injured on the street. The emergency services responded in large numbers, including a trauma team deployed by helicopter. First responders stabilized the man at the scene and rushed him to a hospital in Tilburg, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Omroep Brabant, witnesses saw multiple suspects flee the scene by car. The car was found a kilometer away on Yweinstraat. The suspects fled further on foot. The police arrested two men and deployed sniffer dogs and a helicopter to look for other suspects. A police spokesperson could not say how many people they were looking for. “We don’t rule out multiple arrests.”

The Oost-Brabant police also reported that a man sustained minor injuries in a stabbing on Pastoor de Grootstraat in Loosbroek on Sunday night. The incident happened at around 9:50 p.m., and the man was taken to hospital for treatment. The police arrested a suspect.

There was also an explosion and a fire at a home on Putselaan in Rotterdam last night. The police suspect someone threw a firebomb into the home, Rijnmond reported. A window was broken, and the facade blackened, but no one got hurt. No arrests have been reported.
