Five hurt in crash during police chase in Almere

A police chase ended in an accident in Almere on Tuesday night. Five people got hurt, the Flevoland police said on X.

At around 11:00 p.m., officers in Almere signaled a driver to stop. The driver ignored that and sped away, the police said. The officers gave chase.

Things went wrong in Almere Buiten a short time later. The fleeing car - a black Tesla, according to Omroep Flevoland - crashed into multiple vehicles on Springendallaan and came to a stop. All five people inside got hurt.

Police officers provided first aid at the scene. All five were taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries is unclear.

Photos from the scene show multiple cars with severe damage. The police cordoned off the street for investigation.

The police did not say why they wanted the Tesla to pull over.
