Nine ecstasy dealers arrested in wide-ranging drug investigation

The police arrested nine suspects in a wide-ranging drug investigation on Monday. The suspects are men and women from Zwijndrecht, Barendrecht, and Dordrecht, ages 16 to 63. They are accused of manufacturing and trafficking ecstasy pills.

Police used sniffer dogs to investigate 15 locations, including homes, a garage and storage box, and a shed in Dordrecht, Zwijndrecht, Barendrecht, Ridderkerk, and Hellevoetsluis. A firearm was found in the searches, around 70,000 euros in cash, a money counting machine, and a large amount of ecstasy pills. Telephones and nine cars were also seized.

The investigation into drug trafficking started at the beginning of this year. “Suspicions quickly came in that the suspects were not just trafficking ecstasy pills but also making them themselves,” the police said. The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are not ruling out any additional arrests.
