Routes of both cars used in Telegraaf attack identified

The police managed to track the routes taken by both vehicles used in an attack on De Telegraaf building on Basisweg in Amsterdam early on Tuesday morning. Both the white Volkswagen Caddy used to crash into the building, and the black Audi A5 RS used as a getaway car were stolen and had fake license plates put on them, the police said in a statement.

Before the attack, the two vehicles drove together over Burgemeester de Vlugtlaan towards Haarlemmerweg. They turned left onto Seineweg and came out on Basisweg, according to the police.

At 3:53 a.m. on Tuesday, the white Caddy crashed into De Telegraaf building. The driver got out, set the vehicle on fire and got into a waiting getaway car - the Audi A5 RS. The Audi drove off towards the A10 highway.

Almost exactly 24 hours later - at 3:54 a.m. on Wednesday - the police received a report of a burning car on a parking lot on Noordkaperweg, near the Volendam-Hengelo onramp to the A10. This turned out to be the Audi A5 RS.

The police would like to talk to anyone who saw these two vehicles or the persons who drove them. They're also looking for photos or video footage of the two locations around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. "All information with regards to these vehicles and/or persons is welcome", the police said.
