Teen with taser, fake cash arrested at Schiphol

A 14-year-old boy was arrested at Schiphol airport on Wednesday night for having a taser and a bag of fake money on his person, the Koninklijke Marechaussee announced on their Facebook page.

The Koninklijke Marechaussee is a policing force that works as a part of the Dutch army. It is responsible for border security, including security at airports.

According to the Marechaussee, customs officers found a flashlight on the boy which turned out to be a taser. They called in the Marechaussee, who arrested the boy and found 51 fake 50 euro notes on him.

According to news wire ANP, the boy is from Lent and was returning to the Netherlands from Turkey.

In consultation with he Public Prosecutor it was decided to let the boy go, given the fact that he is a minor. He will have to go in to the Prosecutor's office to make a statement at a later date.
