Second victim found in Oudwoude home dies in hospital

A 59-year-old man found lying in his garden with severe burns in Oudwoude on Wednesday night, died in hospital on Thursday morning, the police said in a statement on Thursday. The man was discovered when police and firefighters responded to a report of a house fire. A 55-year-old woman was found dead inside the house. First responders found no fire, but did notice some smoke. Both victims lived in the house on Allemawei, though no further details about their identities were released. Exactly what happened in and around the house on Wednesday night that resulted in both residents dying is still extremely unclear. The police are investigating.
