Dutch employers outside tech sector increasingly seek workers skilled in AI

Job postings outside the technology industry increasingly include artificial intelligence in their titles, with employers seeking workers who can apply AI tools to everyday tasks. Those can include marketing campaigns, website optimization, and staff training, according to Indeed, the world's largest job site.

The number of AI-related job titles has quadrupled since 2022, the company said. Examples include AI Business Consultant, AI Sales Specialist, and Projectleider AI-implementatie.

In the Netherlands, 58 percent of AI-related job titles now appear outside the tech sector, placing the country among the leaders in Europe. In Germany, France and the United Kingdom, the share ranges between 50 and 60 percent. In Spain, it stands at 36 percent.

Employers are looking for online marketers who use AI for campaigns, specialists who deploy AI to improve website visibility, and AI trainers who teach colleagues how to work with AI tools. Experience with AI is also increasingly required in customer service roles.

"The development shows that AI is increasingly seen as a tool for everyday work, rather than a technology used only by specialists," Stan Snijders, director of Indeed Benelux, said in a statement. "Employers are therefore increasingly looking for people who know how to practically apply AI within their field."
