NL-Alert issued in Utrecht for toxic smoke from transit firm fire

The Dutch authorities issued an NL-Alert warning of toxic smoke released in a large fire at a transport company in De Meern. Smoke is blowing over several Utrecht neighborhoods. Residents in the area are advised to stay out of the smoke, keep windows and doors closed and turn off the ventilation. According to the fire department, the smoke is toxic, but it is not dangerous to residents' health if they take the above mentioned precautions. About 80 firefighters are hard at work trying to get the fire at Goes International Transport under control, according to RTL Nieuws. The fire department believes that the fire started in a large industrial building containing cold rooms. No one was in the building when the fire started.
