"Shocked" Dutch PM: Netherlands stands with France

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte called a series of attacks in Paris "awful" in two posts on social media Friday night. Multiple news agencies reported that anywhere up to 60 people were killed in multiple shootings and explosions initially focused in the 10th and 11th districts of the French capital, and the Stade de France football stadium where France was hosting Germany during a friendly match. "I am shocked by the news from Paris. The situation is still very uncertain, but it is clear that there are many victims," Rutte said on Facebook. "That is truly horrible, and the entire Netherlands empathizes with France. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families," he continued. One of the explosions was loud enough to be heard during the broadcast of the football match, attended by France's President, Francois Hollande. It was also reported Friday night that up to 100 people were held hostage following a shooting at an Eagles of Death Metal concert in the Bataclan theatre. At least three other shootings were reported around the other parts of the Paris metropolitan area. "We are monitoring the situation closely, also with our embassy in Paris, and the French can count on our support." https://twitter.com/ArsenalTerje/status/665285613961244673 https://www.facebook.com/ministerpresident/posts/1003165139745198 https://twitter.com/MinPres/status/665297444591267841
