Man arrested at Schiphol for making ISIS-related bomb threats

The Koninklijke Marechaussee arrested a 29 year old man on Schiphol on suspicion of sending threatening and extorting emails in which he threatened to set off explosives at several locations in the Netherlands in the name of terrorist organization Islamic State, AT5 reports. Last week Monday several media organizations received an email in which a man, writing in the name of ISIS, threatened to set off explosives at various locations in the country, including several places in Amsterdam and a "child friendly location". He promised to release information about where the explosives are in exchange for 10 million euros and the release of foreign rebel fighters in the Syria war. The police immediately launched and investigation and soon discovered that there is no specific explosive threats. They did however take the man's emails seriously and the Public Prosecutor launched an extensive search for the culprit, which led to the 29 year old man from Apeldoorn. The man was traveling abroad at the time. The Public Prosecutor signaled the man internationally and he was arrested the moment he landed at Schiphol Airport.
